The township of Carisbrook is situated in Central Victoria Australia, (first surveyed for a township in 1851 by William Swan Urqhuart). With about 800 residents it sits about 7km from Maryborough on the Pyrenees Hwy.
The peaceful little town of Carisbrook has a wonderful community full of compassionate and caring individuals who often put their neighbour's needs first; those who have raised their families here, and those born here now raising their own families, and those who came to work in the area bringing their families and then those who have chosen to move here to live out their lives.
It is a township and community with a history and a future and all who live here believe it is a wonderful place to live with a lot to offer.
Carisbrook people know what's best for Carisbrook and they deserve to be able to have a go at doing what is required to make Carisbrook the very best place in Victoria, and so from the adversity of a major flood on January 14th 2011 an organisation was formed to help individuals and families to recover and rebuild. Carisbrook Disaster Recovery Committee Inc. has a finite life with specific purpose. However, from this base an idea emerged that became "Pigs Might Fly" and has now been developed into this organisation: Carisbrook Projects Inc.
